Régis MICHEL
As a journalist, director and photographer, he has walked all over the world for about twenty years. As such, he has notably made more than a hundred films for the French television programmes “Thalassa” and “Faut pas rêver”. For him, television is an incredible tool, one which however we should be wary of. Designed to discover the world and get to know “the other”, television has become a terrible means of standardisation and uniformity. “He who travels knows that the planet is rich in its differences. Why does the media try to convince us otherwise? Television should educate people, but instead, it makes people all over the world more idiotic. It is almost a means of political or commercial propaganda.

Olivier BENGHEZAL
Olivier has always loved rugby. When he used to play, he loved the confrontation and the contact of the sport. At the same time, he was also a very good captain and a vital part of the team. Now the manager of Pacifico Production, he is its chief support and its controller, telling everyone what to do and how to do it, thus enabling him to do the best job he can possibly do. Working together can definitely be amicable! Having tried out a variety of professions, he is now the production director for documentaries at Pacifico.

Caroline RICHTER-BONINI
Passionate about ethnology, Caroline started her career in the field of anthropological cinema under the instruction of Jean Rouch and his team. She is intrigued by the expertise of a blacksmith in Damascus as well as that of the breeders and butchers of Mongolia…. And as a result has explored them thoroughly. After having worked as a pioneer of the internet in France, having mastered media strategies and managed budgets after 10 years as head of communications, in 2006 she has decided to return to her first love and produce documentaries. And it is at Pacifico that she has decided to begin and so we welcome her with great pleasure.

Alain PARIS
Alain is not exactly a photographer. As he likes to say himself, he merely “does photography”. This means that not only does he carry out his job in a rigorous manner but he also is evidently enthusiastic about it as a dilettante. This word of Italian origin, present participle of the verb dilletaro, means “to enjoy”, and signifies thus “one who devotes oneself to something with pleasure”. His passion for photographic art is more of a passion for photographs from Africa. Alain Paris is constantly taking photos of this continent. Productions, Studios of Bush, Seetsi, black Mirages are indeed diverse reflections of the same passion for a world which fascinates him and moves him in the same way.

Ettore MALANCA
An Italian reporter and photographer who comes from Ravenne, Ettore has lived in Paris since 1984. For the Sipa agency and the biggest magazines within the world of international press, he has covered all the conflicts, famines and coup d’états on the planet for the last or so twenty years. Winner of the World Press and the twice winner of the “Picture of the year” competition, Ettore is a keen professional and a well-known expert of Black and White photography.

Christian AUXEMERY
He wanted to go around the globe at the wheel of a sailing ship. He finally travelled back and forth to bring back the most unusual pictures. Camera in hand, he observes the earth like an entomologist dissecting insects on the lawn in his garden, with passion and always with great curiosity. After thirty years of travelling on the ocean, he still marvels at the courage of some and at the dignity of others. From India and Brazil, to Togo and Greenland, his career has led him to the most humble people, but these encounters haven’t worn down his optimism and have finally reinforced his faith in man.
